Meaningful Story of Tiffany Engagement Ring


It is said that CharlesLewis Tiffany, one of Tiffany co-founder, initiated the tradition of using diamond ring to make a proposal.

Though as early as 1477, Austrian Archduke Maximillian gave his bride a diamond ring, but the gem was only in accordance with the style of earlier mosaic, and the brilliance and luxury of diamonds was not been fully demonstrated. In 1886, Mr. Tiffany introduced his first engagement ring, and his breakthrough design gave the diamond new brilliance, attracting worldwide attentions.

Mr. Tiffany use six small claws to lift the gem above the ring and diamond can reflect more ray of light, thus showing an unprecedented bright light. Since then, millions of worldwide people began to infatuate with this style of Tiffany ring and sent the Tiffany diamond ring to their fiancées.

Such a gift has gradually become the ultimate symbol of love and lifelong commitment. Diamond is the world's hardest natural substance, and its English name "diamond" is taken from the Greek "adamas", meaning "indestructible". As well the connotation of the engagement ring are inseparate combinations of lovers. Bright gem its conveys the wonderful indescribable feeling of finding the lifetime lover. As every love story can not be copied, each diamond is unique.



Launching Tiffany diamond engagement ring was not the first time for CharlesLewis Tiffany to make a stir in diamond manufacturing. In fact, he had earlier purchased French royal household jewels, and used these gems to create fine and delicate jewelry selling to the celebrities. He himself was dubbed "King of Diamonds".

The biggest achievement was that he made Tiffany Diamond. In 1878, Tiffany Diamond weight 287.42 carat, and then carved into unique pillow-shaped diamond, weighing 128.54 carat and about 1 square inch. A century later, this priceless Tiffany Diamond was permanently displayed in the flagship store on the Fifth Avenue.
